About
Electronic music has provided many of my life’s most memorable moments. It has inspired me, and in a number of ways it has influenced my career. In short, electronic music has always been a part of my life, and it always will be.
Here’s why I have started this blog.
1. The dance music scene is exploding in Los Angeles.Los Angeles is my home. Lately, there’s been a phenomenal scene developing here. Innovative DJ’s spinning electro, house, minimal techno, and other genres can be seen almost any day of the week. At the same time, the superstar DJ’s of the day continue to attract massive crowds when they perform in the area. Here I will cover many of these events posting videos, pics, and reviews.
2. Global dance music culture continues to thrive and evolve.
At the turn of millennium, many were eager to proclaim that the electronic dance music scene was dead. Though it may have fallen a bit out of the music press headlines, it is now in a serious upswing. This blog will track this trend while commenting on where it may be headed.
3. The creative possibilities are expanding.
DJ’s, producers, and even fans now have a rapidly growing set of powerful tools for creating, sharing, and performing electronic music. Serato and Ableton Live have enabled new styles and performance techniques that were previously inconceivable. We live in an age where even a mobile phone can be used as an instrument. I will use this blog to discuss the impact, direction, and potential of the tools we use to create the music we love.
4. I have a desire to contribute to the community.
As it develops, I hope this blog will provide useful information for the electronic music world. I see it as one way I can give back to the electronic music community in return for all it has given me.
I am concluding my first post with a story explaining the blog title. The setting was Bora Bora, Ibiza about a month ago where I was enjoying another San Miguel with one of my best friends. We were reminiscing about our many years of enjoying the electronic music scene. We were amazed that we never get tired of it. In fact, we felt that we were now into it more than ever. Then, out of the corner of my eye I noticed someone wearing a shirt with bold letters saying “It Could Go On Forever….”. At that moment, the DJ began to spin the Orbital classic, “Chime”. It was inspiration at its best. Of course, I had to pull out my camera to document the moment.
