Droid Behavior Comes to the Westside: Technique Feb 2
(0)Though there’s a plethora of opportunities to experience quality electronic music in the Los Angeles area, it can be hard to find on the westside. One standout is Technique which goes down every Tuesday night at Zanzibar in Santa Monica. The well regarded Droid Behavior crew is taking it over next week providing westsiders with a can’t miss opportunity to hear quality beats close to home.

Video Highlights: Hard Haunted Mansion and Monster Massive 2009
(0)Halloween weekend was epic for dance music in Los Angeles with a total of over 100,000 people attending various events. We had a blast enjoying some of our favorite DJ’s with old friends and new ones we met in the crowd. Deadmau5 and The Bloody Beetroots blew our minds Friday night. The next night, we enjoyed great crowd pleasing sets by the forces of Armin, Sasha, and Swedish Egil at Monster Massive. We topped things off by dropping by Monday Social’s official Monster Massive after party to catch a surprise performance by DJ Reza who was followed by Steve Lawler.

Paul Van Dyk and Sasha at Cream Amnesia Closing, Ibiza 2009
(0)Once again, we are in Ibiza for the closing parties. Last night, we visited Amnesia for the Cream closing with Paul Van Dyk, Sasha, and Eddie Haliwell topping the lineup. Having seen a number of crowd pleasing yet uninspired sets from Paul Van Dyk recently, we were not expecting much. Surprisingly, he blew us away with a nearly 3 hour performance that was easily the best we had seen from him. He topped things off by bringing in Johnny McDaid to provide live vocals for “Home”. We’ll post footage as we have time. For now, here’s a clip of “Let Go” from early in the set in the Amnesia main room. The second clip is of progressive house master Sasha holding court in the terrace.
